As an Indiana Workers Compensation lawyer I am beginning to see more and more uninformed folks about Medicare requirements in Workers Compensation cases. Medicare does not have an interest in all Work Comp cases – only some. Often times requiring an MSA or medicare approval will actually cost insurance companies more money. So, why do they requirement on virtually every case? I don’t know!

Medicare has handed down very clear guidelines as to when their interest must be protected. Most Indiana Work Injury cases do not meet these requirements. As an injured worker in Indiana it is important your lawyer understands the Medicare process. Failure to understand this process could cost you thousands of dollars in compensation.
